  • What type of company do you work for? A municipality.

  • How did you get this job? I got the job as a case handler by applying for the position when it was advertised on Finn (job listing website).

  • Why was it interesting for you? It appealed to me because it gave me the opportunity to work with zoning plans, which I find to be an exciting field.

  • What does your work involve? My work mainly involves evaluating public and private requests for developments in various areas in Bømlo municipality. These evaluations are based on compliance with various laws and the inclusion of public interests. Once the evaluation is completed, we present it to the committee (politicians) who will process the development application, provided there are no objections.

  • Why did you choose to work and settle in Sunnhordland? I chose Sunnhordland partly because of its proximity to my family in Bergen, but also because I wanted to start something new. The beautiful maritime nature in the area was also a plus.

  • What is especially good about living here besides the job? I would say the lovely nature and the wonderful people in the municipality. And not least, the roads here are something special compared to other places in Western Norway.

  • What are your tips for others considering moving to Sunnhordland? Find something to do in your free time, preferably something that involves other people, such as joining a band, playing badminton, football, hiking clubs, and the like. Another tip is to find a place to live along the coast, as the nature here is beautiful!

- "Stord is just right in size with a fine balance between city and countryside. This, combined with a 'forward-leaning' industry, provides good opportunities to find a good balance between exciting workplaces and a nice place to live."
