A bit about my personal life: I am in a relationship with Andreas, and together we have a 2-year-old named Eiliv and are expecting a little brother in August.

Wathces? I enjoy both movies and TV series, but it varies depending on the time. Right now, I'm in a phase where I spend a lot of time scrolling on my phone in the evenings.

Hobbies? My free time mostly revolves around family. But I also enjoy having girls' nights with good food and conversation. Or game nights! I also love going for walks, with Hystadmarkjo being my favorite spot.

- The air here and the water are something by themselves.

  • What type of company do you work for? I work for a company called Atheno. Our vision is to be at the forefront of business development in the Sunnhordland region, which means we promote a unique culture of innovation in Sunnhordland and contribute to increased innovation and value creation in new and existing businesses. We achieve this by working with entrepreneurship in schools, providing guidance and idea development for those who wish to start their own business, closely following the development and commercialization of new company startups, helping existing businesses with targeted growth strategies, and serving as the hub for business development and industrial clusters in Sunnhordland.

  • How did you get this job? We came to Stord in the aftermath of the oil crisis and experienced some of the same job-related challenges that are present today, such as the issue of finding "job number 2." As a relatively newly graduated individual in entrepreneurship, Atheno and Verket were places that caught my interest. Luckily for me, it is a warm and welcoming environment where I was able to come, be, and learn, and after a while in the community, I was fortunate enough to get a job there.

  • Why was it interesting for you? With a bachelor's degree in entrepreneurship and economics, I felt that it was tailor-made for me. Here, I can make use of my education, as well as have a very varied workday with a high tempo - which is perhaps the most important aspect for me; no two days are the same.

  • What does your work entail? I primarily work with what we call the 1st line/entrepreneur service in Sunnhordland. Here, we guide anyone with a business idea, hold courses and other relevant events for entrepreneurs and businesses in Stord. We work quite broadly and rarely say no when challenged, so we get involved in many other things outside of the actual entrepreneurship service.

  • Why did you choose to work and settle in Sunnhordland? It was my partner who received a job offer here and I decided to come along. But we were both born and partly raised here, so it wasn't an unnatural choice. It was more or less predetermined that we would return here when it was time to settle down. It's a decision I'm very happy with today!

  • What is particularly good about living here besides the job? It's hard to avoid the cliché of the proximity to everything! Sea, mountains, culture, and vibrant city life - a small piece of Norway compressed into 143.7 square kilometers - with a couple of hours of driving or flying if you need a bit more city life. The air and water here are unique, and I remember buying a scented candle that smelled like the sea when I lived in Oslo, just to remind myself of the scent of "home" when I missed it.

  • What are your tips for others considering moving to Sunnhordland? Follow Buisunnhordland on Facebook to stay updated on exciting job opportunities in the region - and there are many exciting things happening here in the coming years! If you come without a network, Sunnhordland has many enjoyable breakfast meetings and exciting volunteer organizations! And I hope that "Hjelp(?), eg har flytta til Stord!" - a low-threshold offer for newcomers - continues to organize gatherings.

  • A perfect workday for me is: A day that has a bit of everything: Weekly meetings with good colleagues, entrepreneurial guidance on a new and exciting idea! If I can join a company visit to one of the many talented incubator companies we have in Atheno or attend a fun event, then the day is complete! Especially if it's sunny and we can have lunch outside.

- "Stord is just right in size with a fine balance between city and countryside. This, combined with a 'forward-leaning' industry, provides good opportunities to find a good balance between exciting workplaces and a nice place to live."
