- I have always been interested in what characterizes a good conversation in an educational context.

  • What type of company do you work for? I work in higher education, in early childhood and primary school teacher education. Currently, I am in a doctoral research fellowship.

  • How did you get this job? I applied for a doctoral research fellowship where they needed someone to study how students can receive training in having conversations about nature and science topics with preschool children. I found it incredibly exciting, and luckily, I got the job!

  • Why was it interesting for you? I have always been interested in what characterizes good conversation in an educational context, and since I had preschool children at that time, I was both interested and amazed by everything they asked about and were interested in when we were out in nature.

  • What does your work involve? Currently, I am writing research articles together with colleagues in the same field, based on video material from preschools. Apart from that, teaching is what I have done the most.

  • Why did you choose to work and settle in Sunnhordland? We chose to settle in Stord because it was important for me to live close to my work at HVL, and I am also married to someone from Stord.

  • What is great about living here besides the job? It must be that it is big enough for there to always be one or more events to attend, and small enough that you can expect to run into someone you know there.

  • What are your tips for others considering moving to Sunnhordland? That it is a nice place to live! What surprised me the most was all the beautiful hiking areas and the incredible number of organizations and clubs. There's something for everyone.

  • A perfect work day for me is: A perfect work day starts with a cup of coffee and a pleasant chat with colleagues. I encounter enthusiastic students and ideally, I get to write what I had planned to write. I top it off with a swim in Breivikjo with HVL's own swimming club!

- "Stord is just right in size with a fine balance between city and countryside. This, combined with a 'forward-leaning' industry, provides good opportunities to find a good balance between exciting workplaces and a nice place to live."
